About Lorah Yaccarino

Lorah Yaccarino

Lorah Yaccarino believes strongly that the arts are a vital part of individual and community life. Growing up in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn Lorah's mother was a graduate of Pratt Institute and her father owned the local restaurant Joe's Place. Many of the furnishings at Oestara are from the restaurant and several of the paintings were done by students and friends. Lorah herself is a composer and plays a Baritone 12 string guitar. For more on Lorah go towww.lorahyaccarino.com.

In addition to offering space to create works, Lorah looks to facilitate a community of artists and to foster an appreciation of the musical, visual, and literary arts among the public by collaborating with established galleries and performance spaces for occasional art shows, readings, and performances. Oestara also opens her doors to those who do healing work in their community be that through body work, psycho/therapeutic or other forms of alternate healing modalities.
